This is a Poster that I created using adobe Photoshop. I took
this photo using a Sony digital camera. The man with the gun is not Maurizio. I
we used a boy in my year called Theo. We dressed him up in a white lab coat to
gives an ominous effect relating to mental asylums. We focused in on the front
of the gun so that we could have a mysterious and threat ringing blurred image
of his face. I had to touch up on the Gun using the stamp tool to make it look
less like a plastic gun and more metallic. I blurred the background slightly
more than it was originally using the blur tool. I greyscale the picture to make
it look more dark to add to the gloomy impression. After the image was complete
I add the title using a bold font and I spaced out the letters to fill the page
more and to the image behind slightly more visible. I used the names of the
actors in the prelim. I added the black rating stars in and I came up with some
good catch lines that the media would say.

Yesterday our class had a whole morning in the studio
experimenting and practicing different pop video filming techniques. For our
pop video practice we used the song “Get Lucky”, by Daft Punk. We had to
practice lip reading so that we could be in sync with the music. The studio was
split up into three different filming sets. The first set was the Green Screen.
The Green Screen was a big wall in the studio painted green that you film in
front of and the background can be altered to any scenery. I ask Matt for a bit
more information on the Green Screen and he explained to me that it is the
colour green because there is not a lot of green in human skin. Also the camera
lens is made up of the three primary colours that includes 1 red, 1 yellow and
2 green. To set the background of the green screen you first have to set the
background. Starting by no one being in the shot and then the actors or musicians
can jump in.
The next set was the cave shot. There was artificial cave scenery
in the background in which a light was shine onto to create shimmer in the rock
to make it look more realistic. This shot was a tracking shot so we had all the
equipment including tracking lines that are adjustable, a dolly (a platform
that the cameraman sits on with a camera stand which is attached and then the
dolly is pushed along the tracks by some pulling or pushing the handle. For the
cave shot we used the dolly to move along the actors they were lip-reading to
the song.

The start of media studies A2
I am really looking forward to this year’s work as I am very
interested in music videos and watch them on YouTube very often. I have made
previous music videos experimenting with final cut and motion effects.
The main two genres of music that I am into would be
hiphop/Rap, artist such as 2pac and the Under-achievers, and Dubstep, artist
such as Benga and friction.
